    24/7 UPS System Support

Retail stores have to bring in constant daily sales to stay competitive and grow their enterprises. In addition with sales work, employees also engage in customer service to answer questions as well as address concerns, retrieve and stock inventory, engage in marketing, promote their brands, handle accounts receivable/payable, and even perform cleanings to make the storefront presentable to customers. Much of this work relies on computers, software, point-of-sale equipment, electric cleaning equipment, and other machinery.

So when the lights begin to flicker or the electricity fails, UPS systems solutions for retail stores are essential to keep things running until the power comes back on.

Reduce Downtime in Retail Stores with a UPS System

Retail stores may have a mixture of critical and non-critical systems that must operate for a specific length of time when the power goes out. A UPS system can operate for a time to allow employees to save important work, finish tasks, and provide a safe environment when evacuating workers and customers from the premises.

Unexpected downtimes can occur suddenly due to various reasons, including power outages, natural disasters, severe weather, utility workers upgrading nearby power lines, blown transformers, or accidents, all of which can significantly affect your retail store's operations. With UPS systems for retail stores, you are able to keep the POS machine operating to finish customer orders, save accounting records, and safely shut down operating equipment to prevent damage. You can also keep emergency lights and exit signs working for people to move about hallways and offices.

Benefits of UPS Systems for Retail Stores

UPS systems offer several key benefits for retail stores. Firstly, with proper maintenance and upkeep, a UPS unit can last for many years, providing a reliable and long-term solution to safeguard against power interruptions. This longevity translates into cost savings over time, as retail establishments won't need to frequently replace or repair their power protection systems.

Furthermore, having a UPS system available in a retail store enhances safety for both workers and customers. In the event of a power outage or surge, the UPS seamlessly switches to battery power, ensuring that essential equipment such as cash registers, security systems, and emergency lighting continue to operate without interruption. This not only maintains business continuity but also creates a safer environment, reducing the risk of accidents or security breaches during power disruptions. Additionally, by preventing unexpected shutdowns, a UPS can save money by minimizing inventory waste, as it keeps critical equipment running when necessary, allowing retail stores to continue serving customers and generating revenue even during power disturbances.

  • Types of UPS Systems for Retail Stores

The type of UPS system to use will depend on the power load it has to supply for your connected retail equipment and the runtime for how long the equipment needs to be powered.

UPS units fall into two categories: offline and online. Offline UPS power devices directly through the main power until there is a problem with the main electrical power. Then it switches over to the backup battery. An online UPS powers the devices through the battery which is supplied power by the main line. When the electricity goes out, the battery continues to supply power.

Offline UPS may be used for devices that may shut down briefly for the UPS to switch from the mainline to the battery. This UPS may be for devices that are not critical so they may safely be shut down. Online UPS can be used for critical systems that have to remain on with little interruption during the switchover, such as a retail store that provides perishable foods as the refrigeration units need to be kept on at all times until the power is restored.
