UPS Integration with Renewable Energy Solutions

Renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar power, offer promising solutions to address our growing energy needs while mitigating environmental impacts. Types of UPS Systems for Renewable Energy Integration

Offline UPS systems only offer reserve power to equipment without any additional capabilities. These systems monitor the utility source and will seamlessly transfer to the battery’s reserve power when an outage occurs. These UPS systems enable team members to complete current projects, save their data, and safely de-energize equipment to prevent component damage.

Online UPS systems can offer a variety of additional functions in addition to their primary reserve battery power capabilities. These systems provide continuous power to coupled critical loads, and they can serve as a source of stable and harmonics-free AC voltage for sensitive equipment. Because utility sources can be somewhat unreliable at times, even those generated by renewable sources, an online UPS can “supplement” periodic limitations in grid voltage or capacity so that downstream critical equipment is not impacted. The range of available functions in an online UPS solution will depend on the manufacturer and model type of the purchased system.
